The Museum of the Beartooths invites the community to celebrate the completion and official ribbon cutting of the new Stillwater County Historical Mural, a vibrant work of public art that honors the people, places, industries, and stories that have shaped our county.

Created by Montana artist Rilie Tanè Art, the mural transforms the museum’s north wall into a stunning visual timeline of Stillwater County’s rich heritage. Over the past several weeks, visitors have watched the mural come to life brushstroke by brushstroke. Now, we invite everyone to join us as we officially dedicate this remarkable addition to our community.

This project is the result of an outstanding partnership between the Museum of the Beartooths, the Stillwater Historical Society, and the ROCE (Recharge Our Community’s Economy) Stillwater County Tourism Trail Team. Together, the partners envisioned a public art installation that celebrates our shared history while creating a destination that will inspire residents and visitors for years to come.

The Museum is deeply grateful to the ROCE Tourism Trail Team and to artist Rilie Tanè for transforming local history into a beautiful work of art that will welcome visitors to the Museum and downtown Columbus.
